TALBlood Aid enables willing donors who want to amplify kindness and save lives to effortlessly find request blood and blood component donation requests from verified users. They can find requests in locations that they can conveniently access and quickly donate to someone in desperate need of blood. 

However, we are only facilitators and don’t actually schedule or conduct the blood/ blood component donations. Considering your safety and security, we have put together a safety guide to help navigate the process safely while spreading kindness and saving lives. We urge you to thoroughly read and keep these safety guidelines in mind. 

Important Tips for Smooth Blood Donations

Here are important tips on what to do before, during and after to help make your blood donation process smooth.

Before the blood donation 
  • Eat a nourishing, well-balanced diet before blood donation. 
  • Have a good night’s sleep the night before the blood donation. 
  • Make sure to drink plenty of water & fluids before donations. 
  • Confirm the appointment with the donee or their attender.
  • Take a loved one if you need to. 
  • Take music or a book with you. 
During the Blood Donation
  • Keep yourself relaxed. 
  • Tell the medical practitioner of any discomfort, medications or other relevant information.
  • Make sure a new injection is used to draw blood & is discarded after use. 
  • Do not ask for or accept any payment for blood donations. Professional/ paid blood donations are not permitted by law in India. Blood donation is a selfless, noble act of service that should be provided on a purely voluntary basis.
  • Donate blood only at a clinic, hospital, blood banks, or blood donation drives by reputable/ trusted organizations/ nonprofits for your safety.  
  • Do NOT donate blood at unknown/ obscure/ random locations 
After the Blood Donation: 
  • The hospital/ clinic/ blood bank may offer a snack and/or a drink. Take it. If not, treat yourself to it. 
  • If you are feeling dizzy or lightheaded, lie down for a while. Take ample rest after going home. 
  • Make sure to drink plenty of water & fluids after the blood donation (for 24 hours). 
  • Eat a nourishing, well-balanced diet after blood donation. 
  • Do not engage in strenuous physical activity or workouts after the blood donation.

Yes, TALBlood Aid is absolutely free to use. We charge 0% platform usage fees, registration fees or commissions.

In India, males should have a gap of 3 months or more between blood donations and females should have a gap of 4 months or more between blood donations.

Yes, at present the TALBlood Aid platform can only be used in India. Donors and donees both should be located in India to use the platform to give and receive blood.

At present, TALBlood Aid can only be used for blood donations. We will soon be introducing the plasma donations and platelet donations features too.
