O Positive is the most in-demand blood type because it can be transfused to every Rh-positive patient. If you are an O+ donor, your blood helps a huge share of the population.
O Positive (O+) is the single most common blood group in India, which also makes it the most frequently requested at blood banks and hospitals. Because O+ red cells are compatible with all four positive blood types (O+, A+, B+ and AB+), a single O+ donation can reach a very large number of patients. This is why O+ donors are always in high demand for surgeries, trauma cases, cancer treatment and childbirth emergencies.

In an emergency, O+ blood is often used for Rh-positive patients when there is no time to fully cross-match. Because demand is constant, blood banks run short of O+ regularly — registering as an O+ donor on TAL Blood Aid means you can be alerted the moment a nearby patient needs your type.
Most healthy adults can donate blood. In India you are generally eligible to donate O+ blood if you:

Donating blood is quick and safe. After you register and consent, a health worker checks your haemoglobin, blood pressure and general fitness. The donation itself takes only about 8–10 minutes, during which roughly one unit (around 350–450 ml) is collected. You then rest for a few minutes with a snack. Your body replaces the fluid within about 24 hours and red cells over the following weeks, so a healthy O+ donor can give again after three months.
A single blood donation can be separated into red cells, platelets and plasma — so one O+ donation can help up to three different patients. Donors also receive a free mini health check (haemoglobin, blood pressure and more) at every visit. Most importantly, regular voluntary donation keeps the blood supply stable, which is what makes timely transfusions possible for accident victims, surgery and cancer patients, and mothers during childbirth.
Thousands of patients across India need O+ blood every day. Your registration could save a life.
