A single patient may need several units of platelets for critical surgeries/ treatments. Your kindness will make a lifesaving difference to someone in need.
Platelets cannot be manufactured in a factory or lab and come only from willing donors like you.
Platelets cannot be stored for more than 5 days. So, hospitals need quick access to eligible donors each day.

TALBlood Aid enables willing donors who want to amplify kindness and save lives to effortlessly find platelet donation requests from verified users. They can find requests in locations that they can conveniently access and quickly donate to someone in desperate need of platelets.

This depends upon the patient in need of platelet transfusion and the reason for which they need the transfusion. For instance, a blood cancer patient may need a donor of a compatible blood type with better clotting properties.
No, it does not. It is a myth that platelet donation is painful. Beside the prick of the needle, platelet donation is not painful and does not hurt.
Yes, donating platelets is absolutely safe provided you donate at a hospital, clinic, or blood bank. Typically, an assessment is done, and vitals are checked to ensure you are healthy enough to donate. Your body replaces the donated platelets within hours or days of the donation, provided you are a healthy adult.
You cannot get AIDS, infections or diseases from giving blood as long as a new, sterile needle and supplies are used for drawing blood and discarded after one use. This is why it is important to donate at a medical institution or blood bank.
